Kenya Beach Holiday Vacation Information Dec 28

Kenya Holiday: Beach Holidays in Kenya 2009

Kenya and other locations in East Africa, like Zanzibar Island truly has some of the worlds best beaches. In Kenya, they have mile upon mile of sunny, tropical sandy beaches, clear warm waters and all year round good weather and blue skies, perfect for a beach holiday.

Most of the exotic beaches in Kenya have a reef that protects them, this is not only great for snorkeling and scuba diving, but is superb for swimming, there are also luxury beach hotels in Kenya, ranging from 5 star hotels to private beach villas, to Kenya beach resorts, self catering cottages and apartments. This along with the fact that the cheap package holiday market has really brought down the prices of holidays as well as cheap flights to Kenya makes a Kenya beach holiday the perfect summer and winter sun holiday destination.

Kenyan Beaches, North of Mombasa

Just north of Mombassa is where you find the most popular Kenya beaches resorts and hotels and villas. The beaches include Nyali beach, Bamburi beach, Shanzu beach, Kilifi beach and Kikambala beach. Along this stretch of Kenya coast you find many of Kenya’s best beach hotels and generally the further north you go, the less dense the hotels get an important consideration if you are looking to get away from it all. As with many resort areas, besides the beach related activities, like water sports, fishing and scuba diving, there are also other activities on offer ranging from nature trails to golf.

Kenyan Beaches, South of Mombasa

In general, the coast south of Mombasa is quieter than the northern beaches; this is partly because to get to the southern Kenyan coast from Mombasa, you will take the Likoni Ferry that crosses the Kilindini harbour. The two double ended ferries alternate across the harbour and carry both people on foot and vehicles. This is usually a pretty colourful experience with plenty of noise of the locals going about their daily business.

Popular beaches in the south include Diani, Tiwi and Gazi that go right up to the Pemba area. The accommodation on the southern coast varies from hotels to private beach villas and cottages.

Kenya Beach Holidays

Pinewood Village Beach Resort – Perfect for those looking to get away from it all, Pinewood Village Beach Resort is ideally situated on the quiet and shores of Galu Beach, one of the finest beaches in Kenya, south of Mombasa.

The luxury Pinewood Village Beach Resort is a small relaxed and informal hotel and prides itself on giving it’s guests the personal touch. The holiday price includes: Flights, transfers and accommodation for 7 nights on a Half Board basis including a complimentary upgrade to Full Board.

Flamingo Beach Hotel Kenya

The Flamingo Beach Hotel is located at Shanzu Beach, about 20kms north of Mombasa. The Flamingo Beach Hotel has two swimming pools, tennis courts, massage facilities and internet access. All rooms come with air conditioning and a large terrace or balcony with table and chairs.

The Flamingo Beach Hotel has 138 rooms that are located in six separate four story buildings that surround the huge lagoon shaped swimming pool and palm shaded gardens.

Safari Excursions

Through the hotel, you can arrange to go on one, two, four or even six night safaris at an extra cost. As an example, if you choose the Masai Safari, you will stay out on safari for 2 nights. This safari will take you by air to the Kilimanjaro-Kimana Game Sanctuary, where the snows of Mount Kilimanjaro provide the only water source for miles and the natural springs are home to a wide variety of bird and wildlife.

Day 1: In the morning you fly from Bamburi airstrip to the Kilimanjaro-Kimana Game Sanctuary. After lunch at the camp, you set off on your first game drive. Keep a look out for a wide variety of animals in this well-populated reserve.

Day 2: There is an early morning game drive and, after breakfast, a further game drive gives you the last opportunity to experience the beauty and diversity of the ever-changing landscapes of Kimana. After lunch at the camp, you fly back to Bamburi arriving at your hotel in time for dinner.
